Director of Sales

Location:  Murrieta, CA


HelioPower's Director of Sales will be responsible for driving HelioPower’s direct residential sales business. Job requires candidates to have a valid California Driver’s License and five years of experience running a residential team selling in-home products and services. A successful Director of Sales will take an entrepreneurial approach to his/her assigned territory. Candidate is expected to attend (physically or virtually) weekly management meetings, bi-weekly residential team sales meetings, and join networking groups in their communities.


  • Work with Inside Sales to assign and follow-up on leads from multiple sources. Assist team in prospecting for and qualifying self-generated leads
  • Accurately forecast monthly and quarterly sales
  • Recruit, onboard, and train qualified sales candidates
  • Review bids for accuracy
  • Help close deals at the kitchen table
  • Meet or exceed sales targets
  • Manage customer communications, expectations, and escalations
  • Keep HelioPower CRM up to date, maintain account plan, and report monthly on prospects and successes.


  • 5 Years of experience managing an in-home solar sales organization
  • Experience with grid-tied solar electric installation, design, or sales required
  • Experience with solar financing products required (Sunrun, HERO, Ygrene, etc)
  • Energy Production and Demand Management experience a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and, as well as, PV siting, sizing, & configuration tools
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and skillset
  • Solution oriented with construction background a plus
