Energy Cost Assessment

Energy Cost Assessment

Energy audits are typically performed on buildings or facilities to evaluate the potential for energy reduction.  These efforts focus on devices, equipment and the overall building envelope itself.  The output of a typical energy audit includes recommendations to replace, upgrade or recommission equipment and systems.  Implementation of energy audit recommendations  frequently decrease the energy consumption of the facility but, due to TOU rates and demand charges, often do not reduce energy costs as expected.

Energy Cost Audits focus on process costs in the context of the users business.  This shift in focus to energy cost enables the evaluation team to analyze the interaction and timing of equipment, systems and people throughout the facility against energy loads and their applied tariff schedules.

Energy Cost Audit

The output of the typical Energy Cost Audit identifies key processes, timing and equipment systems, and production energy cost which interact to drive overall energy costs.  Much like a sensitivity study, the Energy Cost Audit directs focus and resources toward improvements which to drive greatest cost reduction impact.

Energy Analytics

HelioPower has performed numerous energy analytics engagements and deployments of PredictEnergy™ at Manufacturing Plants, Logistics Centers, and Water-Wastewater Facilities with quantified savings that reduced total operational energy costs by more than 20%. Energy analytics software like PredictEnergy™ can not only forecast energy project savings and verify the results, but also identify additional savings in facility operations, tariff rates and technology opportunities. The application of advanced analytics for energy cost reduction enables Water-Wastewater facilities to reduce energy costs well beyond the savings typically gained using standard energy efficiency and load reduction techniques.
