Mo Rousso - President

HelioPower founder Mo Rousso is a seasoned utility engineer and consultant, with 30 years utility experience with clients including SDG&E, Fallbrook Public Utility, The South San Francisco Department of Public Works, the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, LADWP the Santa Clara Valley Water District and many others.  Mr. Rousso has imbued HelioPower with a “utility culture”: we own and operate many of the distributed generation projects that we design and build, hence we focus on risk mitigation, quality, uptime and productivity.  Since founding HelioPower in 2001, Mr. Rousso has guided and grown our firm into one of the largest and best respected residential and commercial scale renewable energy installers in the country, with over 4000 installations. Mr. Rousso is well published in is chosen industries, holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA.  Mo works directly with client’s to develop energy strategies and programs.

Jonah Liebes - Senior Vice President, Professional Services

HelioPower original employee Jonah Liebes began his solar career after earning his degree is PV System Design and Installation from San Juan College in New Mexico. With a long track record in his family’s general contracting business and a BA in Environmental Studies from Prescott College, Jonah’s background was a perfect foundation for his activities in renewable energy. Mr. Liebes started on the ground floor of HelioPower as a Solar Installer and has risen through the organization serving many functions over the last 13 years. For nearly a decade, Jonah ran HelioPower’s operations including Engineering, Residential and Commercial Construction, and in 2009, he started our Operations and Maintenance Division which is our fastest growing business. Currently, Jonah leads HelioPower’s Professional Services Division with focuses on Energy Analytics, Solar O&M, Dispute Resolution and Energy Storage. Jonah is NABCEP certified and is an Energy Manager (CEM) certified by the Association of Energy Engineers.

John McIntosh - Vice President, Operations

John McIntosh joined HelioPower in 2008 and currently serves as Vice President of Operations. John has a 20 year background in project development, including 10 years of experience in the design, permitting, installation of solar electric and thermal energy systems.  He has personally led design and construction of megawatt scale PV plants abroad.  He was a past president of the Oregon Solar Energy Industries Association, has taught renewable energy system design and consulted with the State of Oregon Department of Energy on its Zero Net Energy Housing program. John founded and led a consultancy specializing in solar electric and high efficiency facility energy design. At Sun Energy Power, Corp, he served as the primary design engineer on multi-megawatt projects, and at HelioPower he currently heads up our Energy Engineering group and our Integrated Energy Solutions group. John holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Software Engineering from West Coast University, Los Angeles California.

Thomas (TR) Bietsch Sr. - Chief Technology Officer

Thomas (TR) Bietsch Sr. is the Chief Technology Officer for Helio Energy Solutions. TR has been with the company since 2006 and most recently served as Managing Director at Helio Energy Solutions. TR brings extensive experience in energy management and energy cost analytics, managing global development teams and delivering innovative energy and product solutions with a focus on meeting customer needs and delivering cost reduction results. TR has more than 30 years of experience in the energy and computer industries with an expertise in developing analytics and rule engine software applications. TR is a pioneer in the Energy Analytics field, creating the first cloud energy analytics application; PredictEnergyTM.

Michael Murray - Energy Efficiency and Analytics Engineer

HelioPower’s Energy Efficiency and Analytics engineer, Michael Murray, developed his analytic skills at Lockheed’s “Skunk Works” division as a Flight Test Engineer on projects including the F-117A and U-2 aircraft.   Now, he provides cross-company management to HelioPower’s commercial energy division and Helio Energy Solution’s software and consulting business.  Mr. Murray has supported the HelioPower and Helio Energy Solutions for 10 years and is driving Helio Energy Solution’s business process consulting, and demand-side management analytical services.  Mike co-developed and deployed the PredictEnergy™ Software product and provides integration services for energy cost reduction to large customers like Albertsons-Safeway North America Supply Operations and the City of South San Francisco.  Mike is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Demand-Side Manager (CDSM) and holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
